Miriplatin (CAT: I001612), also known as SM-11355, is a novel platinum complex that has shown promise in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It is primarily used in transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), a procedure in which a catheter is inserted into the blood vessels supplying the tumor to deliver chemotherapy drugs directly to the site. Its specific mechanism of action involves DNA crosslinking, leading to the inhibition of DNA replication and cell division in cancer cells.
