ML241(CAT: I011716) is a selective small-molecule inhibitor of the AAA+ ATPase p97 (also known as VCP), a key regulator of protein homeostasis, ER-associated degradation (ERAD), and autophagy. By disrupting p97 function, ML241 induces the accumulation of misfolded proteins, leading to proteotoxic stress and apoptosis—particularly in cancer cells reliant on high protein turnover. It is widely used in cancer biology to study proteostasis pathways and as a tool for validating p97 as a therapeutic target. With good potency and cellular activity, ML241 supports research into protein quality control mechanisms and the development of anti-cancer therapies targeting the ubiquitin-proteasome system.
