MMV008138(Cat No.:I018733)is a selective antimalarial agent targeting the enzyme 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate cytidylyltransferase (IspD) in Plasmodium falciparum, the parasite responsible for malaria. By inhibiting PfIspD with an IC₅₀ of 44 nM, it disrupts the MEP pathway essential for isoprenoid biosynthesis, leading to parasite death. MMV008138 has demonstrated efficacy against the P. falciparum Dd2 strain, with an IC₅₀ of 250 nM. Notably, it does not target human IspD, suggesting a favorable safety profile.
