Muromonab(Cat No.:M128484)is a monoclonal antibody used as an immunosuppressive agent. It targets and binds to the CD3 receptor on T lymphocytes, which are key cells involved in the immune response. By binding to CD3, muromonab interferes with T-cell activation, leading to the depletion of T cells and a reduced immune response. It is primarily used in organ transplantation to prevent rejection, particularly in kidney transplants, and in some autoimmune disorders. Muromonab was one of the first monoclonal antibodies used therapeutically but has since been largely replaced by newer drugs with fewer side effects.
