Necrostatin 2(CAT: I005117) is a potent inhibitor of necroptosis, a regulated form of cell death that resembles necrosis. It has an IC50 value of 50 nM (EC50) and primarily targets TNF-alpha. Necrostatin 2 has demonstrated efficacy in inhibiting necroptosis both in vitro and in an animal model of ischemic stroke. It belongs to a class of compounds known as necrostatin derivatives, which have been designed as tools for researchers studying necroptosis. Necroptosis inhibitors, such as necrostatin 2, have shown promise in understanding the molecular mechanisms of necroptosis and may have therapeutic applications in diseases associated with this cell death pathway.
