NSC117079(CAT: I020225) is a novel and selective PHLPP (PH domain leucine-rich repeat protein phosphatase) inhibitor that effectively prevents the dephosphorylation of Akt, a critical kinase involved in cell survival and immune responses. At a concentration of 30 μM, NSC117079 significantly increases neutrophil adhesion to fibrinogen-coated surfaces from 9.0±2.4% to 27.0±8.0% and further enhances adhesion induced by 50 ng/mL GM-CSF from 22.9±6.0% to 47.6±10.9%. However, it does not affect neutrophil transendothelial migration. This suggests that PHLPP plays a key role in regulating neutrophil adhesion via Akt signaling, making NSC117079 valuable in inflammation and immune response research.
