NVOC cage-TMP-Halo(CAT: I040788) is a multifunctional, photocaged compound designed for light-controlled biological applications. It combines three functional components: an NVOC (6-nitroveratryloxycarbonyl) photocaging group, a TMP (trimethoprim) moiety that selectively binds to eDHFR (engineered dihydrofolate reductase), and a HaloTag ligand for covalent labeling of HaloTag fusion proteins. The NVOC group blocks TMP activity until UV light exposure removes the cage, allowing TMP to bind its target. This enables precise spatiotemporal control of protein interactions in live cells. NVOC cage-TMP-Halo is widely used in optogenetics, chemical biology, and dynamic protein localization or interaction studies.
