Pedaliin is a bioactive component obtained from the ethanol extract of Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) leaves (SLs). Pedaliin shows in vitro antioxidant and anti-colon cancer efficacy with radical scavenging activity and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP)[1][2].
Pedaliin (0-35 μM; 72 h) dose-dependently attenuates the growth of human colon cancer cells, HT29 and HCT116[1].
Pedaliin (3.5-35 μM; 30 min; 37 ℃) has ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP)[1].
Pedaliin (7 μM; 48 h) alleviates invasion and migration of HT29 and HCT116 cells in non-cytotoxic conditions[1].
Pedaliin (20 μL) shows high 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC), and in vitro antiglycation activities, and inhibits BSA glycation with an IC50 value of 41.8 μM[2].
