Phenylacetyl L-glutamine is an end product of phenylalanine metabolism in humans and primates. In a large number of other mammals, the corresponding end product is phenylacetylglycine. Phenylacetyl L-glutamine is excreted in urine, with urinary concentrations increasing with age.
