Pinostilbene (CAS&nbsp;42438-89-1) is a stable, monomethoxylated resveratrol derivative with enhanced bioavailability compared to resveratrol. At 0.1-<wbr />10 &mu;M pinostilbene reduces neurotoxicity in SH-<wbr />SY5Y cells induced by the parkinsonian mimetic 6-<wbr />hydroxydopamine and scavenges 2,2-<wbr />diphenyl-<wbr />1-<wbr />picrylhydrazyl radicals with an IC<sub>50</sub> value of 47.1 &mu;M.
