Pivmecillinam(Cat No.:I003169), also known as Amdinocillin pivoxil, is an orally active prodrug of mecillinam. Mecillinam belongs to the class of extended-spectrum penicillin antibiotics and is effective against a wide range of bacterial infections. Pivmecillinam is rapidly converted to mecillinam after oral administration, allowing for convenient and efficient treatment of bacterial infections. It is particularly useful for urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Pivmecillinam’s oral activity and the spectrum of mecillinam make it a valuable option in the management of various bacterial infections.
