PP242(Cat No.:I000380)is a potent and selective inhibitor of mTOR (mechanistic target of rapamycin), targeting both mTORC1 and mTORC2 complexes. Unlike rapamycin, which only partially inhibits mTORC1, PP242 effectively blocks both complexes, leading to complete suppression of downstream signaling pathways, including Akt, S6K, and 4E-BP1. This results in reduced cell growth, proliferation, and protein synthesis while promoting autophagy. PP242 is widely used in cancer research to study the impact of mTOR inhibition on tumor growth and survival, as well as in understanding mTOR’s role in various physiological and pathological processes.
