Primaquine Diphosphate(Cat No.:I004391)is an antimalarial agent effective against the liver stages of Plasmodium species, including P. vivax and P. ovale. It works by generating reactive oxygen species and disrupting mitochondrial function, targeting dormant hypnozoites to prevent relapses of malaria. Primaquine Diphosphate is also used for the gametocidal stages of P. falciparum, helping to reduce malaria transmission. Administered orally, it is typically part of radical cure regimens. Its efficacy, combined with careful monitoring to avoid hemolysis in G6PD-deficient individuals, makes it a critical tool in malaria eradication efforts.
