PRMT5-IN-25(CAT: I040944) is a selective inhibitor of protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5), an enzyme that catalyzes the symmetric dimethylation of arginine residues on histones and non-histone proteins. PRMT5 is implicated in various cellular processes, including gene expression regulation, DNA repair, and cell proliferation. Overexpression of PRMT5 has been associated with several cancers, contributing to tumor progression and poor prognosis. By inhibiting PRMT5, PRMT5-IN-25 can reverse abnormal epigenetic regulation and inhibit cancer cell growth. This compound holds promise for Cancer Disease Research, offering a potential therapeutic approach for cancers where PRMT5 is overactive, such as in certain hematologic malignancies and solid tumors.
