Propoxur(Cat No.:I000536)is a broad-spectrum carbamate insecticide used to control a variety of pests, including mosquitoes, cockroaches, flies, and fleas. It works by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme essential for nerve function, leading to the accumulation of acetylcholine and the disruption of nerve impulses in insects. This results in the paralysis and eventual death of the pest. Propoxur is commonly employed in residential and commercial pest control and in veterinary applications for flea and tick management. Its effectiveness and relatively low toxicity to humans make it a widely used insecticide.
