Protocatechuic acid is a phenolic compound which exhibits neuroprotective effects.

In Vitro: Protocatechuic acid inhibits the aggregation of Aβ and αS and destabilizes their preformed fibrils. Protocatechuic acid prevents the death of PC12 cells triggered by Aβ- and αS-induced toxicity.
