PUN30119 (Cat.No:I035217), also known as Imidazole ketone erastin (IKE), is an effective, metabolically stable, and selective inhibitor of system xc^−, as well as an inducer of ferroptosis. It targets the system xc^− transporter, blocking the exchange of cystine and glutamate, leading to depletion of intracellular glutathione and inducing iron-dependent oxidative cell death (ferroptosis). IKE has shown potential anti-tumor activity in cancer therapy research, offering possibilities for novel treatment approaches.
