(R)-Bicalutamide(Cat No.:R002661) is the enantiomer of bicalutamide, a medication used in the treatment of prostate cancer. Unlike its (S)-enantiomer, (R)-bicalutamide does not possess antiandrogenic activity and does not competitively inhibit the action of androgens at the androgen receptor. Therefore, (R)-bicalutamide is not used for its antiandrogenic effects in the treatment of prostate cancer. However, (R)-bicalutamide may have other potential uses or effects that are distinct from those of (S)-bicalutamide and further research is needed to explore these possibilities.
