(S)-Bicalutamide(Cat No.:R002662) is an enantiomer of bicalutamide, a nonsteroidal antiandrogen used in the treatment of prostate cancer. It acts by competitively inhibiting the action of androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) at the androgen receptor, thereby blocking the stimulatory effects of these hormones on prostate cancer cells. By inhibiting androgen receptor activation, (S)-bicalutamide helps slow the progression of prostate cancer and alleviate symptoms. It is often used in combination with other therapies, such as surgery or radiation therapy, for the management of prostate cancer, particularly in its advanced stages.
