(S)-Haloxyfop-methyl(CAT: C000212) is a herbicide commonly used in agriculture to control the growth of undesired grasses and weeds in various crops. Belonging to the aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicide class, it selectively inhibits the activity of acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase), a key enzyme in fatty acid synthesis, disrupting the lipid metabolism in susceptible plants. This disruption results in the inhibition of growth and eventual death of grassy weeds while leaving broadleaf crops largely unaffected.
