(S)–Remoxipride hydrochloride(CAT: R049722) is the S–enantiomer of remoxipride, an atypical antipsychotic agent that was previously utilized for the treatment of schizophrenia. Remoxipride functions as a selective dopamine D₂ receptor antagonist, aiming to alleviate psychotic symptoms by modulating dopaminergic neurotransmission. However, its clinical use was discontinued in the early 1990s due to associations with aplastic anemia, a serious hematological condition. The S–enantiomer’s pharmacological profile and safety have not been as extensively documented as the racemic mixture. Consequently, (S)–Remoxipride hydrochloride is primarily of interest in research contexts, particularly for studies exploring enantiomer–specific effects on dopamine receptors and the development of safer antipsychotic therapies.
