Salubrinal (Cat No.:I003472) is a selective inhibitor of the cellular endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response pathway. It acts by inhibiting the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 alpha (eIF2α) dephosphorylation, leading to the attenuation of ER stress-induced translational inhibition. By modulating the ER stress response, salubrinal can regulate protein synthesis, folding, and trafficking within the ER. It has been studied for its potential therapeutic applications in various diseases associated with ER stress, including neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic diseases, and viral infections. Salubrinal offers a valuable tool for investigating the role of the ER stress response pathway in cellular physiology and disease processes.
