Scopolamine butylbromide(CAT: I001844), also known as hyoscine butyl bromide, is a competitive antagonist of muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (mAChRs). It exerts its pharmacological effects by blocking the binding of acetylcholine to the mAChRs, thereby inhibiting the actions of acetylcholine on smooth muscles, including those in the gastrointestinal tract, bladder, and uterus. Scopolamine butyl bromide is primarily used as an antispasmodic agent to relieve gastrointestinal and genitourinary spasms. It is also employed to reduce excessive salivation and respiratory secretions and to prevent motion sickness
