Sesamex(Cat No.: I036239), also known as sesoxane, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C₁₅H₂₂O₆. It is primarily used as a synergist to enhance the efficacy of insecticides like pyrethrins and pyrethroids. Sesamex functions by inhibiting the detoxification enzymes in insects, thereby increasing the potency of the insecticides. Physically, it appears as a straw-colored liquid with a boiling point of 137–141 °C at 0.08 mmHg and is soluble in kerosene and Freon solvents. While sesamex itself is not an insecticide, its role as an adjuvant makes it valuable in pest control formulations.
