SKIV(Cat No.:I015527) is a highly potent noncompetitive inhibitor of nonlipid sphingosine kinase (SPHK) and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K). It demonstrates an IC50 value of 2 μM for GST-hSK and 6 μM for hPI3K, respectively. By inhibiting SPHK, SKIV effectively reduces the production of the mitotic second messenger sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P). This compound exhibits apoptosis-inducing properties and displays antitumor activity. SKIV’s dual inhibition of SPHK and PI3K highlights its potential as a therapeutic agent in cancer research and the modulation of sphingolipid signaling pathways.
