Sodium Dichloroacetate (Cat No.:I009546), also known as CPC-211; DCA; X-11S, acts as an inhibitor of pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase (PDK), which leads to the reactivation of pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) enzyme and promotes the oxidation of glucose in the mitochondria. This metabolic shift towards oxidative metabolism has been suggested to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and restore their susceptibility to apoptosis. DCA has shown promising anticancer effects in preclinical studies and is currently being investigated in clinical trials for various types of cancer. In addition, DCA has been explored for its potential in treating metabolic disorders, such as mitochondrial diseases and diabetes.
