Sodium permanganate (VII)(Cat No.:M120907), with the chemical formula NaMnO₄, is a potent oxidizing agent characterized by its deep purple or dark violet color. It is the sodium salt of permanganic acid and shares many properties with potassium permanganate, albeit with greater solubility in water. Sodium permanganate is extensively used in water treatment to remove organic contaminants and control taste and odor. It also serves in industrial and chemical synthesis processes as an oxidant. Due to its strong oxidative nature, it is effective in disinfection and antiseptic treatments as well.
