Spastazoline is an effective, selective inhibitor of amicrotubule-severing AAA ( ATPases associated withdiverse cellular activities ) protein, with IC50value of99nM for human spastin. Spastazoline did not inhibit the ATPase activity of recombinant human VPS4 ( another AAA protein required for intercellular bridge disassembly ).
