Stains-All(CAT: I012977) is a versatile, cationic, sulfonated carbocyanine dye commonly used in biochemical research for staining a wide range of biomolecules. It is particularly effective for detecting acidic proteins, glycoproteins, calcium-binding proteins, and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) in polyacrylamide gels. Stains-All exhibits metachromatic staining, producing different colors depending on the molecular target—acidic proteins typically stain blue, while calcium-binding proteins stain purple or pink. It is highly sensitive and useful for analyzing extracellular matrix components, proteoglycans, and collagen in proteomics and biomolecular research. Due to its light sensitivity, Stains-All must be handled and stored under low-light conditions.
