Sudan II (Cat No.:R022052), 1 – [(2,4-dimethyl phenyl) azo] – 2-naphthol; C. I. Solvent Orange 7; Sudan red; Sudan II is a hemolytic pigment (fat-soluble dye) azo dye, which is used to dye triglycerides in frozen sections and some protein bound lipids and lipoproteins on paraffin sections. Sudan red II can also be used as a fungicide and biological stain, such as fat staining of central nervous tissue.
