Supinoxin (RX-5902)(CAT: I009651) is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor that specifically targets phosphorylated-p68 RNA helicase (P-p68). It exhibits potential anti-proliferative and antineoplastic activities. By inhibiting P-p68, Supinoxin may have a dual effect on tumor cells. It can inhibit the activity of the anti-apoptotic protein B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) and facilitate the induction of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1 (p21). These actions can prevent G2/M cell cycle progression and result in growth inhibition in tumor cells. P-p68 is known to be overexpressed in various solid tumors while being absent in normal tissues. Its inhibition by Supinoxin holds promise in targeting tumor progression and metastasis.
