Tenecteplase (Cat No.: M038054) is a genetically engineered variant of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) used as a thrombolytic agent to treat acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) and investigated for ischemic stroke. It binds to fibrin in blood clots and converts plasminogen to plasmin, promoting clot breakdown. Tenecteplase has a longer half-life and greater fibrin specificity than alteplase, allowing for single bolus administration. Its improved pharmacokinetics enhance convenience and efficacy in emergency settings, making it a valuable tool in acute thrombotic event management.
