Trimethoprim（Cat No.:A000988）is an antibacterial agent widely used to treat bacterial infections, particularly urinary tract infections. It works by inhibiting dihydrofolate reductase, an enzyme involved in the bacterial synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid, which is crucial for DNA and protein production. This selective inhibition disrupts bacterial growth and replication, making trimethoprim effective against a range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
