Vardenafil hydrochloride trihydrate (CAT: I010000), also known as BAY 38-9456, is a potent and selective phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction. By competitively inhibiting the hydrolysis of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), Vardenafil increases cGMP levels, leading to smooth muscle relaxation and improved blood flow to the corpus cavernosum of the penis, facilitating penile erection.
