WB 4101 hydrochloride (CAT: I010337) is a selective antagonist of the α1A-adrenergic receptor. It specifically blocks the α1A-adrenergic receptor subtype, which is predominantly found in smooth muscle cells of the prostate and vascular tissues. By inhibiting the α1A-adrenergic receptor, WB 4101 hydrochloride can reduce the effects of norepinephrine and other catecholamines that bind to this receptor, leading to the relaxation of smooth muscle and vasodilation. This pharmacological property makes WB 4101 hydrochloride useful in research and potentially in the treatment of conditions involving α1A-adrenergic receptor dysregulation.
