WTX-101(CAT: I010088), also known as ATN-224, is a cytosolic superoxide dismutase (SOD1) inhibitor with potential applications in the treatment of Wilson’s disease. By inhibiting SOD1, WTX-101 reduces the viability of cultured oxidative stress-resistant WEHI7.2 murine thymic lymphoma cells and human diffuse large B cell lymphoma cell lines. Notably, its effects are independent of Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL proteins. WTX-101’s inhibitory action on SOD1 provides a novel approach for addressing oxidative stress-related conditions, such as Wilson’s disease, and further research is being conducted to explore its therapeutic potential.
