Xyloascorbic acid(Cat No.:M060307), also known as D-xyloascorbic acid or erythorbic acid, is a stereoisomer of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). It is primarily used as a food additive and preservative, denoted by the code E315. Erythorbic acid functions by inhibiting the oxidation of food, thus extending its shelf life and maintaining color, flavor, and nutritional value. Although it has antioxidant properties similar to vitamin C, it is not effective as a vitamin in humans. It is widely used in processed foods like canned and frozen products.
