Z-Leu-Leu-Glu-AMC (Cat No.: R026079) is a fluorogenic peptide substrate commonly used to study proteasome activity, particularly the caspase-like activity of the 20S and 26S proteasomes. The peptide contains a benzyloxycarbonyl (Z) protecting group and a C-terminal 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (AMC) fluorophore. Upon cleavage by proteasomal enzymes, AMC is released and emits fluorescence, allowing real-time quantification of enzymatic activity. Z-Leu-Leu-Glu-AMC is widely used in biochemical assays for drug screening, enzyme kinetics, and research into protein degradation pathways in cancer and neurodegenerative disease models.
