Gel Clot LAL/TAL reagent indicates the bacterial endotoxin content based on the firmness of the gel formed by the agglutination reaction.
Applications | This assay is normally used for the qualitative or semi-quantitative determination of bacterial endotoxin content in: Human and animal injection drugs Biological products Medical equipment. |
Composition | This product is a freeze-dried preparation of the blood amoebocyte lysate from the horseshoe crab. It contains proclotting enzyme and coagulogen. |
Mechanism | These components can be activated by bacterial endotoxins. Under suitable conditions (appropriate temperature, pH, and absence of interfering substances), bacterial endotoxin activates the procoagulase in the TAL reagent, causing the Limulus reagent to agglutinate and form a gel. |
Test Per Kit | One vial for 10 tests; Ten viasl for 100 tests |
Time to Report | 60±2 min |
Used For | Injection drugs, Biological products, and Medical devices |
Storage and Expiry | At 2-8°C the product can be stored for 24 months before opening. |
Traits | < 60 minutes |
